On July 4th OCI Beaumont LLC began producing Methanol at its Nederland plant. Previously the facility was idle for seven years and during that time sustained exposure from two hurricanes.

The refurbishment project began over a year ago and included the installation of a state of the art Distributed Control System and the restoration and successful startup of an integrated Ammonia plant in December of 2011. The Nederland facility will staff more than 75 full time permanent employees.

During the course of the project more that 2.5 million man-hours were expended and the safety performance of all employees and contractors was world class. OCI Beaumont LLC is committed to building upon this auspicious beginning and continuing to operate the facility in a safe and environmentally friendly manner.
